SafeNet bought Aladdin a few years ago and maintains the driver. That's why you see "SafeNet" in the Device Manager.
To fix dongle driver problems, I suggest using the Mentor Install Program (MIP) that comes with the Mentor Standard Licensing (MSL) download. Installing the licensing software will also give you access to some additional utilities like Lmtools and pcls_ok. Please refer to the Using the Mentor Install Program (MIP) to Update Your Hardware Key Driver (Video) community doc for more information.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Unfortunatelly we used both the MIP and Standalone Flexid 9 installation and none of these helped.
Could be some issue with Alladin drivers on Windows 7? Apparently the drivers are not able to enable the dongle.
The mgls.dll file is up to date .
I would appreciate your suggestions if you have further ideas.
Thanks and Regards,
I have some updates in this respect.
I tried to install dongle drivers, using the recommended procedure , after the installation completes successfully I can see in Device manager Aladin USB key and Alladin HASP reported.
However the dongle starts blinking. I even switched the dongle to different usb ports. Same result.
I've read on the web some firmware update. Have you heard about similar situations? Can you advice on what should be done to get the dongle recognized by the computer (Windows 7 SP1 64 bit)?
I am having similar type of problem.
"lmhostid -flexid" returns null for Win7 64Bit system. the drivers for the hardware dongle is installed and the FLEXID in the LMTOOLS->System Settings shows the correct hardware key "9-XXXXXXXX". Any ideas what could be causing this?
I have encoutered situations where this problem solved by copying the dongle drivers in your application installation / drivers directory (e.g MyPartition/Modelsim/ Drivers) and run the drivers batch files from there.
You may try this approach and see the results.
If the flexid is returned in LMTOOLS and not by lmstat lmhostid, there may be a mismatch in the versions of the two. Are you running lmhostid from C:\MentorGraphics\Licensing? Which version of Mentor licensing do you have installed?
Nevertheless, if LMTOOLS returns the flexid, it's a good sign. Are you having problems running a license server, an application or both?
I am using Mentor_License_Utility v2.1.1 with PCLS v2012_1 (220.127.116.11) (6/15/2012).
I am having trouble running Microtec v5.3 C compiler. "get license failed" message is posted once mcc68k is invoked.
Thanks for your help.
