Floating License Server / Dongle Drivers / Installation Guide

    Joel_Pointon

The Floating License Server / Dongle Drivers / Installation Guide used to be available for download from the www.vesys.com/techsupport website, this website now redirects to a Mentor graphics sales page does anyone know where these can be downloaded or if they are available?

I am guessing that the 2007.2 software download may contain these files but I don't want to download a 45Mb file just for these files, having to download the full release (which is now out of date because 2007.2.2 is available) seems a bit strange and a bit of a chicken and egg situationin in order to get the installation guide!!!!

          Hi Sledge_Hammer,

The installation guide will be available as a separate document from 2008.1 but in the meantime I have arranged to get the 2007.2.2 guide onto SupportNet and it should land there sometime this week.  You will find this plus a host of other documents - release notes, TechNotes and help files etc., all completely searchable on SupportNet.  It's available for all support paying customers and registration is quick and easy.

          HTH.

            Hi,

One other thing, the License info that  you mention is also available on SupportNet.  Go to the System Administration tab and choose General System Administration and it will take you to the right place.  Alternatively you can follow this link:

              Hi Jean,

Thanks for that answer, can customers who do not have a valid support contract still login to download the old versions of VeSys that they are entitled to?  This question also applies to customers that need the dongle drivers (technically this is on the CD which they receive and so they shouldn't need to download them).

              Thanks

                Hi,

Thanks again for you fast reply.  I clicked the link and it took me to the flexnet 10.8 licensing area which is for the floating license server software do you also have the link for the Dongle Drivers?

I don't know if you are the right person to ask but would it be possible to have all of these direct links on the VeSys page of supportnet so that we can find everything in one location?

                Thanks

                  Hi sledge_hammer,

Customers who are no longer on support can still get access to certain areas of SupportNet but not the downloads page.  They can log an SR to support to request the software and our support people will be able to provide it where necessary.

                  Regards,

                  Jean

                    Hi Sledge_Hammer,

I posted a tech note on this issue a couple of days ago and had it linked to the VeSys software. The tech note number is MG6657. Its on the main tab as you open support of Top Troubleshooting tips.

Fixing dongle driver installations. Troubleshooting FLEXid dongle driver Installer in PCLS.

                    Symptoms

                    • How to conduct a command line USB dongle install

Need a driver for a USB dongle

                    Causes

                    • During the install of PCLS or other product specific installation, Acresso's (formerly Macrovision's) FLEXid Installer is run to detect whether or not previous versions of the hardware key drivers are loaded. If any driver (Sentinel, Dallas or Aladdin) is detected, the installer will attempt to install all three updated drivers. On some systems the installation of the new drivers may fail.
