First of all, I am pretty new to Mentor Graphics products and not really sure if this is a relevant reply.
My first project using Mentor Graphics PADS requires STM32F4 series MCU which is an ARM Cortex M4 based MCU offered in variety of # of pins in different models. At the first my sight to PartQuest, I could not find a footprint or symbol for any STM32F4 parts, although they exists in the list (this is probably just because Digi-Key have them in their database).
It is very difficult and maybe practically impossible to made footprints and symbols for every one of those parts but luckily they generally share the same footprints and generic ones that suit bunch of them could be created e.g. a footprint and corresponding symbol for 100-LQFP package.
I would appreciate if you create those generic footprints and symbols for at least popular MCUs such as ARM Cortex M Series, or if there is an other way around, please help me by directing me to the right materials or pages.
Try this tool. http://www.samacsys.com/products/epw/
They have some STM32F4 series symbol and footprints.
You can request parts that they do not have. Just click on the Part request button. I requested a part and got it made in under 24 hours. Give it a try.
Thank you for your reply. This app seems very interesting and useful, but it requires Microsoft Office to be installed, but we are working with Libre Office. Is there any workaround for this issue?
