    Password Protect a Project

Is it possible to password protect a project in Vesys?  We have a project that needs to be firewalled from our general engineering population.

I'm its not but feedback is much appreciated

          Hi,

This is not possible with VeSys (but is with Capital).  For VeSys you can mark individual designs as "Read-only" (by changing the "Access" value for each individual design), but of course any designer could change that value.

In Capital you can put designs in a "read-only" or "hidden" domain, which depending on the user access they either don't see the design, see the design as read-only or could have full permission.

          Kind Regards,

          Nuri

How about cloning the database and then change the "iorconnection url=" in clienproperties.xml to the new database and control the users in "edit users" dialog.

OK, you could have two completely separate VeSys 2.0 Databases (and Manager services) - for one database you could restrict the users, while the other everyone could have access.  But if you do that you would need to manually keep symbols/parts in sync between the databases.

              Kind Regards,
