We use keyin functionlity inside the command window of Expedition 2005.
The file format looks like:
.ref IC5 1,99/0,895 90 top
.ref C69 1,39/2,72 0 bottom
eg. IC5 - is the reference designator,
1,99/0,895 - are the x and y positions here in inch,
90 - rotation of the part
top - top or bottom layer
We came to this since we ported designs from the very old CAD System (Visula) to Expedition 2005 or EE7.9.5.
We generated out of the PCL files the placement file for the keyin command inside Expedition - this works in 2005 and 7.9.5.
But be aware about the conversion of the comma symbol - in Europe you have to use english syntax ...
This is used to place the components from one file to another. I have .CSV file, from that I have to place the components into the board.
As Wolfgang noted, use pr -file="FILENAME" to place the parts from a file.
You can also add a -x to the end to export the list, pr -file=placementoutput.txt -x
Additionally, this file will output the Fix/Lock status, if present.
.ref J2 10150,-250 0 top fix
.ref J3 10750,-250 0 top fix
.ref J4 11350,-250 0 top fix
.ref J5 11950,100 0 top fix
.ref J8 10750,1200 0 top
Whether the file should be in any specific folder like "output"?
the PCB directory is the default location but any location may be specified.
You can specifiy the directory before the FILENAME eg.
I think you need to remove the commas from your file.
If you open it w/notepad, it probably looks like....
Output the file as tab or space separated.
Your raw output file should look like the examples above.
Got it thanks
That's great. Will you mark this as Answered please?
