    DC2DX Translation Issue

    robert_davies

      This thread has been created for this post in an outdated thread:

      'How can we search and select all terms XCMP#s from a design capture translation.?

      Any user who translates a Design Capture schematic will have XCMP# for each symbol.

      DXD uses the new ID $3I439 etc.

      If you copy a translated part it duplicates the XCMP# and makes the packager fail.

      Even with "Preserve packaging info on copy is disabled" it still clones the value and then creates failures.'

          There is an option in the DC2DX translator configuration that will allow or prevent the XCMP and XSIG names coming through, these are:

          KeepInternalInstNames=1

          KeepInternalNetNames=1

          Setting these to 0 will not keep the names.

            From Chris Smith:

            'Thanks Rob,

            This is exactly what I needed. I don't believe I have seen this on any documentation for the DC to DX flow migration docs.

            Fellow customers - This only works on VX not 7.9.5.

            A workaround is to make sure your users have setup>settings>advanced "Unique Names on Copy" checked.

            Failure to do this on a converted DC to DXD will give you packager errors if you copy a symbol on your schematic'
