Hi WJ - thanks for your question. I am going to move it to the Vesys community as the Member Resources community is just for general questions on how the community works. Thanks for your involvement in the communities.
So I have dealt with this very issue myself though our settings could be different. What I discovered is that even though the project I was working from was in MM any new projects I created were created by default in inches. When importing or copying between projects from a MM to INCHES the graphics would explode.
To solve this problem I always import in a project instead of creating a new project. Then i blow away the contents of this new project yet all my settings are setup and i can manipulate and import in without this issue happening.
I should probably spend the time to figure out what all settings I should fix. Or if vesys had a smart button that if you had a project open you could hit and change all defaults to said open project would be awesome.
But there is more then one place you go to change those inches to MM that i recall.
Thanks for Your reply Mr. FMorgan,
...still even if the exploded harness graphics issue exists, the VeSys should handle the quite easy cause of 2 types of units: metrics or Inches, is by default the program ALWAYS set to INCH?
Beside the VeSys project setting for units, is there a specific Generic units-setting?
After when this exploded harness graphics symptoms occur, then ALL new projects will have unexpected exploded harness graphics behavior, what is the step by step procedure to solve this?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Did you try creating a new project as I described above and is everything okay when you try to use it. Need to know if that works first to verify the issue. I will work on putting together that list of differences at least in my system setup.
Oh one other thing i notices is that once you create a page it will hold the settings of the project it was created under. So you have to modify the project settings before creating any pages or delete them if they are wrong. That was fun to discover.
Hallo FMorgan, you are right, I know this already, the project settings are 'fixed' at its creation.
Now in version used here, v2009.1SP1002.14, the creation of an New project shows the units setting= mm, however while importing one .dsi file, be sure the units are manually set to mm. I did that check before, and still after a short while, and several imports further, the generation/adding of the harness graphic elements did suddenly 'explode'in huge size!
thanks for your reply. stiil it's good to make a database backups every day!
