For Signal Integrity simulations which one is better *.cce or *.hyp?
Which file is better for sharing information?
my understanding is
.hyp is old ASCII format while cce is new encrypted format.
.hyp is good when you need to play with the information without going back to change in real design
Thanks for the answer.
Does it mean that any changes to *.cce file during simulation can be taken back to the PWB Layout in Expedition?
What information is missing in *.hyp that *.cce has?
The CCE file does not change during simulations. The few changes that we can edit in HyperLynx SI are saved in the BUD file. Actually, the HYP file works the same way in that it does not change, but the information in the BUD file overrides some data in the HYP or CCE file. The CCE is more complete for a design because it can be used to transmit schematics, board layout, and netlists. The CCE is the goal for all data exchange between Mentor PCB tools.
