For example, colored nets disappear, and "Unique names on copy" option will be changed (turned back on) everytime I restart DxDesigner.
How can I make these setting be constant?
The 'Unique names on copy' setting will be written to the DxDesigner.xml file in your personal WDIR folder, make sure it is writeable and owned by you. If you are using a group WDIR as well (a.k.a. Corporate WDIR) where an admin controls some settings then check this setting isn't set to 'Read only' meaning you can't change it.
Make sure you have a personal writeable WDIR path, settings you change go into a configuration file in this folder.
I redefined the WDIR path and the folder containing the bus settings. Bus settings now are saved, but "Unique names on copy" option still resets after each DxDesigner relaunch.
Can you tell me what should I do to see what folder was set as WDIR folder?
Use the 'set' command from a command prompt - it will list all of the WDIR variables by release and version.
In VX2.3 and before, there’s Dashboard utility
In VX.2.4 and after, locate the Dashboard application under SSD_HOME\common\win32\bin\dash.exe
You will see WDIR paht listing and whether they are accessible or not
we use startup script to make sure some important variable such as "unique on copy" is on every time a project is opened
