I am trying to learn automation in python. I have looked in the AATK, but the only example included for python fails with errors. Will someone give me an example of code in python for validating the pdbDoc? I am using python 3.6.4.
We have some tools, HyperLynx Advanced Solvers and HyperLynx that fully support Python automation. I have written some Python for these tools. HLAS and HyperLynx have the Python executable in the install tree, Xpedition does not. The examples in AATK were written by Mike and have dependencies as listed in the headers. I do not use Python because of the dependencies and delivering the solution to my customers.
If you are writing Python for Xpedition, remember it is not supported by the help desk and you will basically be on your own for finding resolution to issues. If the reason to use Python is just to learn it, I would stick to writing automation for the HyperLynx products.
Sorry for not answering you question but, as you saw with Mike's REFList.py script as you change versions of Python, add different libraries... you may have to update the code.
Not the answer I was looking for, but thanks for your reply. I was hoping to use Python with automation as I prefer using python to basic.
Hi Kendall, where can I find the REFList.py script? I'm having trouble getting started and this seems like a good place to start.
Take a look in the folders of AATK (AATK_1861 Released ), namely ......\AATK_1861\Examples\Python\
Thank you Peter!
