I have expedition data where SILK are not generated on some part.
When forward annotate is done, all those deleted SILK were generated.
Do we have option not to create those already deleted when doing forward annotate?
Forward Anotation does not generate any silk. Forward Annotation just loads the new/changed parts/netlist/cells into your design.
When you have deleted silkscreen in the layout, and you want to keep those changes, you have to make sure that forward annotation does not load existing (and modified) cells into the design again.
This is controlled by the the 'Library Extraction' settings.
Click on the Help button to find out the difference between these options.
I see. I will try this method tomorrow.
Thank you very much, Charles!
Thank you so much, Charles.
It did work.
However, my problem now is that those edited cells are not reflected to the Xpedition layout.
Example is the change in TP or test point size. Using the Only extract missing library, TP does not change after FA.
Normally, I would change these cell in the layout. All changes in such a cell will show up on all instances.
If you want to reload a cell from the library I would use 'Library Service' to load an updated cell in the design and bypassing the Forward Annotation.
It will tell you that you cannot import parts, but that's fine, you want to import a cell. Select the Cells tab,
select the Library partion where the cell is stored, select the cell, click on the > symbol and click on
the Apply button to load the cell from the library into the design.
Thank you so much, Charles!
