Has anyone ever tried to set up version control for Xpedition/PADS Professional projects via Github?
How do I make this setting right?
We have tried to use both Git and SVN versioning systems, but this kind of versioning solutions are meant to use for software engineers. Therefore they manages each files separately. Xpedition/PADS project has many files and some of them are temporary files. It can be used with very strict .gitignore config but I personally wouldn't recommend it, especially multi-user environment. There's no version locking system to let other users that you're working on a design, every time you have to download latest versions of files from the server. Please see our solution I shared here.
I was thinking of syncing only the \ProjectBackup directory with GitHub.So that at any moment you can roll back to the right backup via icdb Project Backup.
