Is it possible to simulate a castellated hole in 3d simulator? I need to create a 50ohm castellated hole.Thanks.
Can you give some more details about what you call a castellated hole? That might mean different things from different people.
If you can draw the complete structure in your PCB layout tool (does not depend on inserting components) then you can simulate the structure in HyperLynx Advance Solvers. If the castellations of the hole are built with vias then this is within the standard PCB structure and is fairly easy to model.
Thanks for your quick rensponse.Castellated I mean pad and half metalized hole on the edge of the pcb as the attached image.I think the difficult thing is to simulate a half hole...
yes, you can model this in HyperLynx Advanced Solvers. The only issue might be translating the design data. If the board cutout doesn't translate correctly, you can later go into the model setup and manually cut out the hole. The remaining geometry will be included in the model.
