perhaps this may help you.
Press the SHIFT-button when selecting a part of the trace.
Does this function help you?
It used to be, in older revisions of the software, that you could select segements, traces, pin pairs, or nets. You no longer have the segment as an option, it has been replaced by the trace object. What you want to select is the pin pair. Before you click on the segment, do a RMB (Right Mouse Button), Pin Pair. If this is not working for you then you can select each segment at a time, combineng them by holding down the shift key as you click on each portion.
That completes our history lesson for today,
George the old fart who has been using PADS since 1991.
unfortunately, i doesn´t work.
But thanks for the hint, that i can select traces with the shift button. It is the same as Right-Click with MButton and chosing "Select Trace". However, i have the same problem, that sometimes my traces will not be selected completely.
thanks for your reply. But if i choose "pin pair", the menue-option (RButton) "smoothe trace pattern" is not available.
The smoothe-function is the only reason why i want to select "complete traces".
Besides, the "pin pair"-functions selects vias as well.
Please make sure your DRC is turned on (DRP modeless command). Even if you select a single segment of the trace, from RMB (right mouse button) you will see Smooth that will fix the all segments up the via point. This will fix one sections at the time.
Another way to optimize all of the traces is to open this design in PADS Router. Protect all critical traces that you don't want to move and in Strategy select Optimize command for All Nets. You may want to play with Intensity setting (Medium or High) to achieve better results.
