Is there a way to select what layers to display?
I tried to find manuals at Mentor Graphics and tried clicking through the menus of the software, but there is nothing helping.
I've never used the viewer, but it should work like "regular" PADS Layout. Try CTRL-ALT-C (or Setup-Display Colors...) to bring up the color menu (see image). To turn a layer off or on, click on the checkbox to the left of the color blocks for the specific layers you want or don't want visible.
The check boxes across the top of the color blocks are there to turn off/on specific parts of all layers, such as the pads or planes.
Also try the modeless 'Z' commands
Z* to view all the layers
Z1 to view only Layer 1
Z4 to view only Layer 4, etc.
Ah, I forget about the Z command, never got in the habit of using it. Good point.
You should also be able to set up custom color setups with particular layers and what-not already set up, you save these by clicking the "Save" button under the "Configuration" drop-down in the lower right corner of the Colors dialog.
You can then activate them by selecting them from the "Configuration" drop-down. Once they've been activated that way, all you have to do is go to "Setup" and the various presets will appear just below the "Display Colors..." listing, you just select the one you want to use. See attached image for that.
Also by Pressing "F1" on the PADS window will re-direct you to online manual.
Where is the configuration stored that is loaded on start up? is there a way to load your config so it always opens that way?
