We have installed VeSys 2010_2 successfully on 3 Win-XP machines without problems. I believe the only difference is an improved installer!
Have you tried this?
Regards: Tom Scharf
As previously explained, I have tried various versions of VeSys and only older versions seem to work. It has something to do with the JAVA Virtual Machine used/required with the latest release of VeSys i.e. 2010.2a.
We are looking into this, I may have someone call you.
Johan - please also create an SR for this.
Please send the "md5sum" report on all files in jre folder. You can use following md5deep to do so
command will be some thing like
md5deep.exe -r c:/Mentorgraphics/vesys/jre > checksumreport.txt
Alternatively you could zip the "jre" folder and upload to support net? It will be around 40 MB.
The error of “Installer could not start manager” appears in my single-tier installation, and I have tried your method, but it does not work. And it comes out an error dialog of "Cannot create JVM instance ", every time when I run Start VeSys 2.0 Manager & Database. I have installed the latest JAVA platform.
Can you help me, thanks very much!
Can you confirm what version of VeSys 2.0 you are trying to install, also what platform (OS version) are you using.
Finally, to help resolve this issue in a timely fashion could you either contact SupportNet or your Sales Representative.
One reason manager did not start could be memory - It appears that manager application could not server enough memory. Could you try starting manager with less memory.
One way to do is command line -- VesysManager.exe -Xmx512m
(If we establish that manager starts with less memory, we then need to make the changes to "manager service". )
It's resolved followed your instruction. Thanks very much for your kindly help!
What's the meaning of making change to "manager service "? How to do it?
